Method of Application

The main attributes of Stanrose® PWD Combitreat fall into the following categories :

Alkalinity control: The correct level of alkalinity ensures that the optimum environment exists for:-
Correct precipitation of hardness salts in conjunction with phosphate
Neutralisation of acid conditions
Avoidance of caustic corrosion
Control of magnesium and calcium salts
The alkalinity ‘balance’ is extremely important for efficient water treatment. Stanrose® PWD Combitreat provides this whilst avoiding excessive pH levels which could cause embitterment and corrosion of boiler components.

Hardness control: Stanrose® PWD Combitreat provides a phosphate reserve to effectively react with and precipitate the hardness salts introduced with the feedwater. The formation of insulating scale on hot metal surfaces is prevented as the scales produced will not adhere and so optimum heat transfer efficiency is maintained. The stable phosphate compounds used in Stanrose® PWD Combitreat will maintain their efficiency throughout the boilers normal operating temperature range. A temporary ‘phosphate hideout’ where low phosphate levels at certain temperatures are experienced, is thus
avoided.

Sludge Conditioning: Boiler sludge can most easily be removed by blow down if it is free flowing. Stanrose® PWD Combitreat will ensure this by preventing the scales from coalescing to form large crystals or adhering to metal surfaces. The resulting sludge is composed of small particles which are dispersed so that it will flow towards the bottom of the boiler to be removed by blow down.

Storage and Handling

Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame. Ensure that the working area is well ventilated.
Store at moderate temperatures in dry, well-ventilated area.
